Shivam and Eknath - The Shining Stars of SCA!

The game of cricket is changing and it is changing really fast. In today's day and age of dynamism in cricket, there are two most important dimensions that every team aims for, those are - a top all-rounder and a safe wicket-keeper who can bat. Fulfilling these exact dimensions and excelling in their game are two promising players from Mumbai, Shivam Dubey and Eknath Kerkar. Both, Shivam and Eknath are cricketers who learnt the finer aspects of the game and honed their cricketing skills at the Sanjeevani Cricket Academy (SCA) in Khernagar, Bandra.

Shivam, a powerful left-handed attacking batsman and medium-pacer played a stellar role in Mumbai's Ranji Trophy campaign. He single-handedly scored runs for the team in pressure situations and also picked wickets at crucial stages. This performance earned him a place in the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the IPL 2019 and he did quite well in the opportunities that he got. Shivam's batting style has also been compared with Brian Lara and Yuvraj Singh which in itself is a big achievement. The consistent Shivam is now a part of the India 'A' team and he has all the skills in him to graduate to the next level and represent the country. Shivam, even today works very hard on his cricket and fitness at SCA and is an inspiration for everyone.

Eknath Kerkar, lovingly called 'Ekya', is a charismatic personality with a funky hairstyle and a beard, but he is a player with a determined attitude. Right from his school days, Eknath has trained and practiced at the Sanjeevani Cricket Academy. Eknath has represented Mumbai teams at all age-group levels and his wicket-keeping along with big runs at the under-23 level and club cricket won him a Mumbai cap in the Ranji trophy. Eknath with his attacking batting combined with wicket-keeping is an asset in the T20 format as well and he proved his worth in the recently concluded T20 Mumbai league. Eknath can easily adapt to all formats of the game and that's what makes him a promising talent in the years to come.

We at Sanjeevani Cricket Academy wish our very own Shivam and Eknath all the very best in their cricketing journey!!
